Welcome to the new and improved Dose Of B!
This has been long overdue and I’m so happy to share Dose Of B 2.0 finally! I hit a creative rut earlier this year, which I really struggled with. I also focused all my energy on my university course as I prioritised that as much as possible. I’m so happy to have passed all my final year exams as I can finally relax. I’ll be graduating this July alongside my boyfriend and best friends! I’ve had the past few weeks to relax and sort everything out that I had to put aside earlier this year.
I feel like I’m almost where I want to be in terms of jobs, housing and my blog. I’ve also moved house, which took a lot longer than expected. I’m beyond excited to be able to create content in the new flat, as I’m moving Dose Of B into Lifestyle and Travel content too! My main love will always be Beauty, but I have a million plans that I just can’t wait to put into action.
This relaunch was in part inspired by the incredible Victoria from InTheFRow, who’s just completely revamped her own site. She wanted it to fit her blogging style more fully and offer content more easily to her subscribers. I’ve felt for a while that I didn’t quite know what direction I was going in with Dose Of B, from my content to my logo! I decided to pay for Canva, do a bit of Pinterest research. This allowed me to really create a logo that fits my personal style. It’s definitely a struggle when you feel as though you’re trying to keep up with the main beauty bloggers!
I’ve never really been a *pink* person – it suits loads of people, and one of my faveeee bloggers, Jade from JadeAnnLoves, has the dreamiest Insta I’ve ever seen! It’s just not my personal style, but I’ve been struggling to find out what mine is, as it changes week to week. I’ve recently been researching more and more into Minimalism and so many of the main principles fit with how I’d ideally like to live my life.
I want my content to reflect my personal style, and I’m hoping to show that my version of beauty isn’t all pink roses and ribbons – although I love this content when done by others, it’s not the aesthetic that I want to create personally. I adore those accounts, but they’re not 100% me and the minimalism accounts I also love to follow can sometimes seem a little cold and bare. I’m hoping to find a blend of minimal but still girly, that I can reflect in my content.
Even the colour of my new logo (finally!) is way more me than anything else I’ve made in the past. Canva is definitely a learning curve, but I’ve had my fair share of practice now! My logos are improving with each reinvention, but none of them ever felt as though they truly *fit*. I spent a fair while earlier, finding the perfect font and shades to use, and I couldn’t be happier with the end result!
It’s not the fanciest, and my website isn’t either, but they’re both simple and elegant, while staying easy to use. I adore the new colour scheme, and I’m excited to start taking new photos for my blog. My lovely parents got me a camera for my 21st so I’ve been working out how to shoot with it. It’s taken a while but it’s amazing so far! A recent Instagram poll asked me to include more lifestyle and travel content, so that’s on it’s way too! I’m planning on a lot more posts about my current minimalism journey, as well as the mindfulness & mediation that I’m trying to incorporate into my daily life.
I have plenty of new content on the way and 3 blogging events lined up! I think this relaunch has been overdue, and Dose Of B is now something I’m even more proud of. This new design really reflects my personality and style. Starting soon is a blogger interview series that will focus on my current faves every month! I’m looking to take DOB to new places and explore new content that I’ve never written about before. I’m so happy you guys are along for the ride!
Hoping you enjoy the new site as much as I enjoy writing for it. I can’t wait to share some of my new posts with you! Check out my last post while you’re waiting for the new content – I reviewed some BlankCanvas Cosmetics brushes!
