ToppBox Dec 17 | Men’s Subscription Box | Unboxing & Review

It’s that time again – my boyfriend’s ToppBox* has arrived! This is a bit of a delayed post (this arrived in December) as I took a little break from Dose Of B after Blogmas finished – 24 straight days of blogging – I’m shattered! Buuut I’m back and I am SO impressed by this/last month’s box.

I’ve reviewed previous boxes from Toppbox here & here, and I can easily say that this is the best one so far! Disclaimer – I’m working in collaboration with Toppbox for these reviews but on a reviewing basis, so I’m giving honest feedback which they take into account for their next lot of boxes. I’m more than happy to say if I think certain items are or aren’t worth the money & gifted items will always be marked with a *. Okay, back to my review!

This box has definitely taken it up a notch – previous boxes have definitely been worth the £16 a month as I thought the products they contained were worth the money, even if there was the occasional product I wouldn’t repurchase. As they’ve increased their prices by £3 a month, I wanted to see how this affected the contents of the Toppbox and if it was obvious that you’d paid a little more. Answer = Hell yes! This box was heavy, and absolutely overflowing when my boyfriend opened it. Little note – I’m liking the new blue boxes, although the neutral ones before were nice too. He was definitely more excited opening this one than the others, as there was just so much to look through & try out.

Contents:

We Are Tea Fighting Fit Tea Bag

Perfect for the boy who asked for a kettle for Christmas! This was a cute touch, especially around the winter season, when everyone is trying to avoid flu. I’m not a huge fan of tea myself, but apparently this one went down really well so I’d say this was a good product to include as a sample, but I’d be a bit miffed if there wasn’t much else! These are £3.49 for 12 tea bags.

Hawkins & Brimble Elemi & Ginseng Face Wash

This next product went to my Dad, as he has zero skincare products & my boyfriend is accumulating a fair few recently! I was pretty impressed to see a full size product in the box, and we really liked the scent – it’s not overpowering but nice & fresh. My Dad really liked using this, & like I said, normally he’s not really bothered! This face wash costs £8.95 for 150ml.

The Scottish Fine Soap Company Sea Kelp Bath & Shower Gel

We actually really liked the scent of this shower gel – we weren’t sure what Sea Kelp would smell like! This travel size bottle is perfect for going away & it has a really fresh scent. It’s £9.50 for 200ml.

Christopher Courtney Anti-oxidant Enzyme Chocolate Foot Exfoliant

This smells amazing – I actually had to stop my boyfriend from tasting it! It worked really quickly, and is a gentle exfoliator to remove any dead skin cells. This one is almost £30 (£29.95 for 150ml) so is already worth more than the box costs initially! This is one that we wouldn’t have tried of our own accord, but it worked really well. I think it’ll last a fair while.

Jack Picadilly ’69

This was the one I was really excited to try but unfortunately it leaked so we didn’t really get to experience it properly! There was enough left in the vial to wear a few times, and my boyfriend really liked the scent. It includes notes of Bergamot, Leather, Petrol & Amber. This is pretty pricy if you buy a full size version – £95 for 100ml!! I’m sticking with the testers for now!

S5 Skincare Purity Serum

My boyfriend was so excited to try this one. It’s formulated to reduce any blemishes by 42% over a period of 56 days. I’m thinking I’ll be sharing this one with him to be honest – I’m so curious to see how it works. This is worth a huge £44 for 30ml – again, even more than the box costs!

Overall:

I was really impressed by this box as it’s under £20, and this one is worth around £100! I’ve got to say, ToppBox are constant with the quality of their boxes and I love that you don’t get regifted the same samples every month like some other boxes I’ve tried!

The price of the box has gone up to £19, which I didn’t notice until I was researching the products but it’s still a bargain! It’s posted out on the 15th of every month and the plan automatically renews on the 25th. You can suspend, restart or cancel at anytime as long as it’s before the 25th so you don’t get charged for the next month.

I would definitely recommend these boxes as presents! I think they’re such a unique gift – my Dad keeps hinting for one so we’ll see!

Have you tried ToppBox?
