2018 | New Year’s Resolutions | Lifestyle, Beauty & Blogging

I always make loads of New Year’s Resolutions but it can sometimes get overwhelming. This year I decided to do it a little differently! I’m picking the main things I either want to improve on or achieve this year and sorting them into categories.

Blogging

I’m so happy with where I’ve got to already with Dose Of B so far. I only got my domain sorted in August last year and I’ve already had over 1.5K views on my blog alone! I run Dose Of B in my spare time as I’m a full time student so one of my resolutions this year is definitely to organise my blog better & plan out my posts more! I’m hoping to post 3 times a week in 2018 – Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays – I’ve been planning out my post ideas in an adorable diary I got from Typo. I graduate in 2018 so it’s definitely going to get harder to fit in blogging as much as I’d like to. My main blogging resolutions are:

  • Plan out my posts in advance
  • Hit 3K on Insta & 1k on Twitter
  • Improve my photography skills for flatlay & outfit posts!

Beauty

I love playing around with makeup & I really want to improve my beauty skills this year – I’m going to practice blending eyeshadow, as well as general face makeup – I have really pale skin so it can be a bit of a challenge! I also want to start trying looks that are more out of my comfort zone like more colourful lips and eyes! My skin has also started clearing up finally so I’m going to try my best to keep it as healthy as possible. My main beauty resolutions are:

  • Try out more colourful looks
  • Practice blending & base makeup
  • Keep my skin healthy

University

My No 1 resolution for my last 6 months of uni – stop procrastinating! I still can’t believe I’m almost finished. I’ve absolutely loved being at Cardiff Uni and even though my course is quite difficult, I’m still enjoying it. I’ve started my dissertation but still have a lot to get through as well as more essays & exams before I hopefully graduate in June! I have a kinda useful habit of cleaning rather than working so my little flat is tidy but I still have work left. Another resolution is to be more productive. I’ve just got a part time job on Saturdays so I’m planning to head to the library after my shifts to get a head start on my revision. My main resolutions are:

  • Stop procrastinating!
  • Be more productive
  • Graduate!!!

Life

Travel more! I travel to London every now and again and have already planned a weekend there in February to visit family for a wedding. I’m hoping to visit one of my friends in Prague too but it depends on uni! My boyfriend & I are trying to decide where we want to travel in the summer because we’re hoping to go on holiday after we both graduate so I can’t wait to explore a little more this year. I visited Greece last year and adored it – this summer should be even more fun! Be healthier and work out more – these are always on my New Year’s resolutions but I really struggle with these two. I’m a picky eater to begin with so it can get really boring eating healthy food all the time because I don’t get as much variety – this year I’m changing it up! My boyfriend loves cooking so we’re going to try out loads of new recipes & hopefully find a few that I like as well (finger’s crossed!).

We both have a gym membership now where I’ll also be working. I’m planning on going a couple times a week, working it in around uni because the gym is on campus. I love early morning swims before uni – as well as the unlimited hot water at the gym! I’ve also downloaded a few Apps that I’m excited to get back to. I love Duolingo, as well as a meditation app. My main life resolutions are:

  • Travel more
  • Eat more healthily & work out regularly
  • Improve my language skills on Duolingo (currently 42% fluent in French – je voudrais améliorer mon français cette année!)

2018

I’m so excited to see where this year is going to take me, as well as how Dose Of B will develop! 2017 really wasn’t the best year but I’m still proud of what I accomplished over the past 12 months. I started my own blog, passed my second year of uni at Cardiff, moved into a flat with my boyfriend, visited Greece, helped my Dad run social media for his business and my proudest accomplishment yet – I’ve got a job for when I qualify from Uni!

Thank you to everyone who supported Dose Of B in 2017 – here’s to a even better 2018!
