I was recently invited to a blogger’s evening at Kiehl’s by the lovely Katie. I’ve heard so many good things about their products! I haven’t been able to try them out yet as they are a little bit pricier and I’m a broke student so I have a few things on my wishlist!
The store looked amazing – there was a little treat area with salted caramel hot chocolate and a selection of brownies and mince pies, as well as stunning pink mocktails with cute candy canes. I loved the illustrated gift boxes on offer -Kiehl’s Cardiff are actually working with students at the University of South Wales who’ve designed their own boxes for the store! There was also a cookie decorating station as well as mini facials on offer. I’m definitely going to go back again to try out a facial as I didn’t have enough time this time!
I had a skin consultation from Marcus, which I would recommend to everyone! I’ve never known what type my skin is (dry/oily/combination etc). It changes so much with the seasons, and sometimes even day to day. Marcus used little oil detecting stickers on my forehead and cheek to find out the levels of oil in my skin. Mine ended up being a bit dry (definitely something I need to be looking after with the cold weather at the moment!). He also used a detector to judge how hydrated my skin was. Mine ended up being a little dehydrated so he recommended some of the moisturisers there for me.
It was really helpful to be able to see what my skin needs! I like the approach Kiehl’s has to skincare – they don’t have a ‘one size fits all’ way of thinking, you know, one skincare set for dry skin, one for oily and so on. Instead, they ask you what do you like about your skin and what would you like to work on, and we went from there!
It was so nice to meet some other local bloggers, I’d already been following Jade from JadeAnnLoves for ages and vice versa, so it was lovely to finally meet her! I also met Amy from Billie Blonde who was so friendly and supportive of my blog! While there, I got to know Caroline and Adriana, two more bloggers who are relatively new to living in Cardiff.
There are definitely a few new products on my wishlist now. I loved the Midnight Recovery Oil and the Facial Spray smelt amazing! I think I’m going to save up for the Blemish cream too, as my skin is pretty temperamental.
We all had such a good time at this event. It really stood out to me just how much the staff know about all the products! They definitely knew what would work best for each of us. It was really impressive and I feel like my skin is in safe hands next time I go in! What are your favourite products from Kiehl’s?
