BioEssence 24K GOLD WATER?! – Worth the hype??
This little beauty from BioEssence came in the post the other week. I’ve been on the lookout for new skincare finds for a while now as my skin seems to be so picky, so this was a nice surprise! I have combination skin that changes with the seasons, and I’ve been struggling lately. It’s getting dryer from the cold weather but there are still some oily areas that make it hard for my foundation to stay on.
I was lucky enough to be sent the 24K Gold Water* from BioEssence UK to try out and share my thoughts on. Their range really interested me, as I’ve heard of skincare products containing gold flakes before. These products are normally so far out of my price range and I couldn’t really see what the gold was supposed to do! I’ve researched into the beauty benefits of gold infused products and was pretty surprised as it’s supposed to be great for your skin. It contains anti-oxidants as well as being anti-inflammatory. Some skincare physicians have said that using gold infused beauty products can calm acne and redness as well as protect the skin from free radicals. These can lead to wrinkles.
The main point I kept coming across was that although the products containing gold are obviously visually amazing, the gold does actually have a beneficial effect on the skin – but be careful! The prices are often more reflective of the luxury packaging and idea of the gold rather than the actual cost of the gold so you seriously don’t need to pay $$$ to try them out for yourselves.
First things first, how much is this going to cost you?? It’s normally £16.99 for 100ml and is only stocked online at Superdrug. They currently have a third off all BioEssence products. You can snatch this up for £11.29 at the moment! The packaging itself is gorgeous. It comes in a gold box and is a heavy bottle with a golden lid.
It really feels like a luxury product but at a fraction of the price of all other beauty products infused with gold I’ve seen! I personally love the way the formula feels on my skin. I can’t stand anything that feels like it’s sitting on top of my skin. It feels like a gel with a very thin consistency and dries really quickly. I definitely think the gold flakes add a little glow to my pale skin. The flakes massage right in, so they aren’t visible on the skin!
I’ve noticed that my pores seem smaller and I don’t need as much primer, if any! It also makes my skin feel very smooth. Most importantly – hasn’t broken me out as I do have sensitive skin.
I definitely recommend trying this Gold Water if you’re curious about gold infused skincare and want an affordable option! What’s your skincare must-have? You can also contact me here.
