Distorted Dreams Collection Review | Sleek Makeup

Today I’m reviewing the brand new Distorted Dreams collection from Sleep Makeup, full of to die for highlighters and metallic lip shades! You might have seen these already featured on Britain’s Next Top Model too. The collection consists of 3 gorgeous metallic matte lip creams* – the ‘Matte Me Metallic’ set in the shades Rusted Rose, Volcanic and Copper. Firstly, Rusted Rose and Volcanic look pretty similar in the tubes, however they have very different effects when worn. Rusted Rose has more pinky undertones and Volcanic has some mauve with almost copper tones mixed together, creating a stunning metallic finish. Lastly, Copper looks exactly as you’d expect – a true metallic vibrant copper colour. I almost can’t choose a favourite!sleek distorted dreams palette review collection

The matte lip creams have pretty good staying power and feel very light on the lips. I really like how quickly they dried as well. I can’t stand it when my lipstick feels like it’s taking forever to dry as I don’t want to smudge it everywhere! They’re a steal at only £4.99 each and are currently 3 for 2 at Boots and Superdrug.sleek distorted dreams palette review collection

Now – the metallic highlighting palette* everyone’s been waiting for! The Distorted Dreams highlighting palette is honestly incredible – and I love highlighters! It consists of 5 holographic shades – lilac, green, pearl, pink and gold. The pink and gold shades are powder highlighters, and the lilac, pearl and green are creamy. And I know – green highlighter?! But it’s gorgeous on the skin, because it has tiny reflective pigments that look awesome when they catch the light. Don’t worry – you won’t actually look green! It’s about time there was a metallic palette suited to very pale skin, and this one seems like it’s a winner!

My favourite shade was a surprise to be honest, as normally I go for pearly subtle shades. I am completely IN LOVE with the pink powder highlighter in this palette. It’s a pretty rose gold shade that makes your skin look really luminous and glowy as a result – and best of all, it’s a shade that works on pale skin! I have really pale skin so it can be hard finding a highlighter that doesn’t look too obvious, as well as needing to compliment my skin tone but this palette is definitely a win. It’s only £10.99 which is super affordable for a good palette and the packaging is really good quality. This palette has a silver reflective case with a good sized mirror inside and it’s pretty sturdy. It’s just survived a journey on a plane in my hand luggage and back in my hold luggage!

Overall, I really love using these products. The metallic lip creams aren’t something I’d normally go for but I ended up loving them. We all know that Sleek are killing it with their highlighters!
