The process can take anywhere from half an hour to 2 hours, is virtually pain free and the results can show anywhere from 1 week to 12 weeks later. The results depend on the person having the treatment. The staff often recommended this for those who are almost at their target weight but have some stubborn areas that need work. These areas include the abdomen, thighs, arms and hips.
My experience:
I first had a consultation where they fully explained the procedure and where it would be most beneficial for me to have it done. As I was only having a small portion of my stomach frozen, my treatment took around half an hour. Steff explained everything as well as what to expect.
Firstly they put a mask over the area to cool and protect it. This is pretty damn cold, just to warn you! Staff put the device on over the mask and turned the suction on. The initial feeling isn’t great as the suction device pulls up the skin from your stomach (like the Kylie Jenner challenge but for your stomach!) into a holder and squeezes. This isn’t the most comfortable feeling but definitely not painful at all – waxing is far worse! You soon get used to it too and after 10 minutes, we turned it up a notch for a more intense treatment. At this point, your stomach is numb so the uncomfortable feeling goes.
I then relaxed for the remainder of the treatment, while Steff kept me well supplied with magazines! It’s such a weird feeling when the device is turned off and it’s pretty disconcerting as your stomach is completely numb. She took the membrane off and warmed the area with a hot cloth. Aftercare is pretty simple – lots of water, no alcohol or caffeine for 48 hours and massage the area frozen twice a day for 2 weeks. Some people have just the one treatment and results can show anywhere from 2-12 weeks on. It’s really important to keep drinking so the lymphatic system can flush out the dead fat cells.
Results:
This treatment can take up to 12 weeks. I’m going to keep track and then post an update of any results I see!
Pricing:
This usually costs £100-£200. This is depending on the size of the area you want done and how many times you have it. Staff also recommended this treatment more for those who want to lose weight from a specific area. It’s not recommended for those looking to lose a lot of weight.
